By the time the ceremony ended we were tight for daylight but we managed to squeeze out everything we could of the fading light.  On January 20th the sun sets at 5 pm but it’s a bit dimmer here due to the mountains surrounding us as compared to the coast.

The wedding was at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the ceremony being at the small glass chapel on the roof and their dinner in the wine room of the Wildflower also at the Chateau.

It was a bit late for good natural light photography but such is the way with many winter weddings when the sun is setting around 4:30 mid winter.  Keep that in mind if you want good daylight.  Nevertheless it was cozy and had the ambience they were after.

We had a great day together and went back to the Brew Creek Lodge for a bit more photography of the reception.  Here’s a few of the highlights and a link to the album that I designed for them.

It was overcast so the lighting was quite decent and Charles and Carrie were both outfitted well for the day.  Fortunately it was not overly cold as is often the case in Whistler in winter.  Near the freezing mark if I remember correctly.

Great location for a winter wedding when the snow is not too new so you can walk around with little trouble and few people about to get in the way.
